Scalmalloy   Thrust Frame Components

The technology demonstrator of ArianeGroup GmbH of a fluid-integrated engine thrust frame combines the functions of the main structure and fluidic system for parts of an upper stage.

It was manufactured for the purpose of cryo-temperature and static loading tests with funding from the German Aerospace Center.

 

The components additively manufactured by APWORKS in the center of the demonstrator form the hub at which trusses and propellant lines meet and include an internal ring line and the interface for load introduction.

The innovative design using the high strength aluminum alloy Scalmalloy® (developed by APWORKS) contributes to the reduction of the overall system weight by efficient load-bearing shapes.
